Hey everyone, my name is Joe, I own a manufacturing company that is celebrating our 50th year in business. We have mainly been involved in Aerospace and Defense as well as the Oil industry. We have just completed our first run of these new ATV/UTV Campers designed specifically to be pulled by quads or side x sides. We had done some testing while we were doing our photo shoot and tried to beat these things up, load them down and basically destroy them, but to no avail, they performed better than expected.
The wife and I have property in Az, just North of Wickenburg, and had the opportunity to take one out for it's maiden trip a couple weeks ago. We left our property and headed towards the Hassyampa river. On this trip we took some tighter, rockier trails, just to completely put the new camper through it's paces. Made it to the river with no issues. Weather was getting a little warm as we had a later start than we had planned. Once you drop in to the river, the sand tends to get deep, but with the low weight of the new camper, the Ranger 900XP pulled it without a problem. Got to the river and set up. With this ATV camper, set up is a snap. I may have had a total time of 15 minutes before everything was done and I had a drink in my hand, and that includes setting camper up, setting up EZup, porta potty, our dogs situated and chairs in the water. Not too much traffic this time of the year, seems that when it gets hot, people tend to stay inside, which is when my wife and I love to go out. On Sunday we packed up and headed back.
Now, we have a Ranger 900XP, but we wanted to see what a lower powered vehicle would do, so this past weekend we had our nephew and his wife come out with their 2008 Yamaha Rhino. This Rhino used to be ours, and we sold it to them when it had 4400 miles on it, and it is still completely stock. This past Friday we loaded up and headed out. We let them lead so we could observe the way the ATV/UTV Camper handled at speed and over rough terrain. We have pushed ours pretty hard, but was not able to see the way these handle, so this was good for us. Again, down to the river without a problem, found our spot and set up. We had a few visitors on Saturday, and quite a few heads turning as people were driving by. I'm not a sales man, so probably a lot of missed opportunities, but I suck at that type of stuff. Anyway, awesome weekend, We always bring our 2 goldens, and our nephew had brought his 2 goldens as well, and with my wife, the 2 dogs and I in the camper, there was plenty of room when we went to bed. Our nephew has a golden that's regular sized, but the other one is mixed and he weighs in at 120 lbs, so he's a big boy, but they said they had ample room as well and never felt crowded in the camper. Woke up Sunday morning and packed up and headed out.
All in all, the campers are exceeding my expectations. I know I'm the manufacturer, but I am also a consumer, and I want to make sure that whoever has one of these, is going to have it for a long time, and be happy with it. And with how it has performed, it makes me happy and confident about putting them out there.
